A major component of LIBERARTE is musical Commissions, original choral works with poems from LIBERATION as their text. 

These compositions join significant emerging composers with poets of like mind 
and/or message. 

The first four LIBERARTE Commissions premiered at concerts in June and 
October of 2015.

The texts of his work, "A Lament for Military Secretaries / Rune" are Jiri Dedecek and Richard Hoffman.

World premiere at Prague's Spanish Synagogue as part of our ongoing partnership with the Prague Spring International Festival. The Martinú Voices performed.

SIVAN ELDAR, Israel
The texts of her choral works are Agi Mishol’s poem “Mother Tongue" and Salman Masalha’s poem “The Song About the Child." 

World Premiere June 29 at the Spanish Synagogue in Prague and North American/U.S. Premiere October 5 at Symphony Hall, Boston.
Performed by the Boston Children's Chorus.

The text of her choral work is Justin Quinn’s poem, “Regreen.” 

World Premiere June 29 at the Spanish Synagogue in Prague.

PABLO ORTIZ, Argentina/U.S.
The text of his choral work is Richard Blanco’s poem, “Leaving Limerick in the Rain.” 

World Premiere October 5 at Symphony Hall, Boston, following Mr. Blanco's debut reading of the poem.

DAVID POST, U.S.
The text of his choral work is Ernesto Santana's poem, "The Day of Light"

World Premiere June 29 at the Spanish Synagogue in Prague.
Performed by the Boston Children's Chorus.

LIBERARTE is a project of the Terezin Music Foundation and is created and produced by TMF Executive Director Mark Ludwig. 
TMF is a non-profit organization inspired by the artists imprisoned at Terezin and dedicated to honoring their creative spirit with commissions, concert events, and programs in Holocaust education.
